Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Making The List

It wasn’t but a few years ago when I walked into one the last remaining record stores in my area called The Slick Disc and was introduced to the sounds of Grace Potter & The Nocturnals. The Song “Paris” was blaring from the store speakers and the guy running the place was dancing or should I say attempting to dance as he stocked vintage albums on the racks. Needles to say after hearing just one more song, I left that day with a Grace Potter CD in my hand.

Grace has a hard but soulful tone that has all the ingredients of success and as she took her spot on stage last night at The Royal Oak Music Theatre in front of a sold out crowd it was evident that she is well on her way!

The band opened with “The Lion The Beast The Beast” which is also the title of their new album, then rolled into hits like “Ah Mary”, “Oasis”, “Belladonna”, “Sugar”, and one of my favorites “Medicine”.  Grace rocked the house last night then blew it up when she ended her visit in Royal Oak with a show stopping rendition of The Rolling Stones “Gimmie Shelter”.

Grace Potter is slowly adding her name to the list of the great frontwomen that can put goose pumps on your arms every time they open their mouth to sing; So when you’re looking to get out and SeeTheMuzic, add Grace Potter & The Nocturnals to your list!
