All you have to say is Dave Matthews is coming to town and ticket sales go through the roof here in Michigan. Time and time and again DMB plays in front of a sold out crowd; last night at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston was no different. Fans of all ages filled the venue to its capacity looking to see and hear one of the greatest singer/songwriters of our time.
So far this summer, outside concerts in Michigan have taken a beating since Mother Nature loves to rain on our parade almost daily. Dave apologized for the rain and thanked those whom had bought tickets to sit in it. Well, as luck would have it Mother Nature must also be a fan of DMB because by the time they started the show the water shut off giving the fans on a hill some relief to enjoy the performance.
Dave Matthews gave the fans exactly what they came for, playing a selection of his greatest like “When The World Ends,” “Belly Belly Nice,” “If Only,” “Crush,” “Fool to Think,” “The Song That Jane Likes” and “Jimi Thing” to name a few. Throwing in a few covers like Bob Marley’s ‘Stir It Up,” Blue Oyster Cult’s “The Reaper” and John Denver’s “Take Me Tomorrow” added a little more spice to an already fantastic show. Ending the night with “Ants Marching” filled the summer air with the crowd singing and dancing, leaving musical memories of yet another great Dave Matthews Band performance! Get out and see the music
