Rock Legends Chicago and The Doobie Brothers made a stop at DTE Energy Wednesday night on their 2012 Summer Tour.
Chicago has been dishing out Gold and Platinum Albums since the early 70’s. The bands popularity really took off with the release of their second album, titled “Chicago” and they never looked back. Although the band has gone through many members they have always stayed true to their original sound and style. Wednesday night Chicago took us on a musical journey; playing some of their greatest hits like “Just You and Me”, “Leave Me Now”, “Beginnings” and one of my favorites “Saturday In The Park”. Chicago ballets well forever be a part of music history.
Also playing that night was The Doobie Brothers; this band too, has laid down hit after hit since the 70’s. Even with a few key member changes, The Doobie Brothers had no problem racking up a host of gold and platinum albums over the years. Wednesday night at DTE The Doobies still sounded as good as ever, kicking out new and old hits like “Take Me”, “Brighter Day”, “World Gone Crazy”, “Don’t Start”, “Blackwater” and China Grove”.
Although it was a nostalgic evening, the feeling in the air was fresh and new.
